NFPA 1971 Helmet Flame Resistance Tester
Introduction:
The Helmet Flame Resistance Tester, in accordance with NFPA 1971, is designed to evaluate the flame resistance performance of a protective helmet exposed to a Bunsen burner flame, radiant heat source, or both.
The Pressure Vessel consists of:
Ø The Flame Resistance Tester consists of a test chamber, radiant heat source, Bunsen burner, gas supply system, heat flux meter, flame calibration device, and control system.
Ø The heating elements of the radiant heat source are stainless steel rods, which can provide radiant heat up to 10kw/m2.
Ø The heating elements are controlled by the PID controller, which with a resolution of o.1 degrees.
Ø Equips with pneumatic heat insulation shield, automatic remove when the test starts.
Ø Provides water cooling heat flux meter, measurement range up to 50 kw/m2, resolution of 0.1 kw/m2, with the self-cooling device.
Ø Provides standard Bunsen burner, which meets NFPA 1971 requirements, flame temperature at the range of 1100 to 1300 degrees.
Ø The gas supply system includes gas regulator, valves, spark ignitor, and float meters.
Ø The flame calibration device, equips K type thermocouples, with a resolution of 0.1 degrees, and digitally displays the flame temperature.
Ø The time recorder, resolution of 0.1 seconds, records the flame application time, and after flame time.
Ø The metallic dummy head, complies with NFPA 1971, the position can be adjusted in the test chamber.
Ø Windows based software, with the calibration functions.
